Executive Director – Operation Respect

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Executive Director (ED) serves as the Chief Executive Officer working in partnership with the board and staff to:

  • Promote the mission and values of the organization;
  • Generate the resources required to fund OR’s operations and programs; and,
  • Oversee the implementation of OR’s programs, advocacies and policies.

Primary responsibilities include fundraising, board cultivation and development, coordination of projects and programs, and financial management. The ED will represent the organization with public presentations, meetings with key constituencies and nurture OR’s relationships with its principal supporters and funders. The ED will also develop marketing and communications strategies, including social media.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of and passionate commitment to the values and mission of OR.
  • Successful experience raising funds and managing budgets and staff.
  • Warmth, kindness and generosity of spirit that embodies OR’s ethos and culture.
  • Excellent writing and oral communications skills for both inter-personal exchanges and public presentations.
  • Results and detail oriented.
  • Proven leader and team player with the skills and ability to form positive relations with other leaders, colleagues, co-workers, board members, friends, funders and supporters.
