Engaging children and youth so they have productive, fun summers takes a great deal of work and effort, and today we are grateful to all who work in summer school and camp programs as counselors and staff all over the world! We love to hear the stories of how you have used our Don’t Laugh at Me resources and integrated our music, including those Peter Paul and Mary summer camp favorites into your programs.
This summer, Operation Respect was privileged to work with middle school students from JHS 80 in the Bronx, in a program held at P.S. 94 through a community school partnership with Aspira of New York. Marcy May, Operation Respect senior consultant and Executive Director of EARS, coached a team of youth facilitators—Jose, Sanaa, Sheila, and Nai’im and L.J.—who worked with groups of students doing amazing activities. Students could not wait to participate in their workshops and the Aspira staff from the rest of the program at P.S. 94 welcomed us with open arms.
We appreciate everyone who has made this a special summer by engaging children and youth.
