Laura Parker Roerden has twenty-five years of experience as a teacher, writer, and curriculum developer promoting children’s social development. She is the former director of publications for Educators for Social Responsibility and managing editor of New Designs for Youth Development. Her numerous educational outreach programs include developing a “PeacePops” campaign for Ben & Jerry’s developing conflict resolution skills in children and the event content for “Safe Nights,” a violence prevention event simulcast nationally on PBS. She is the principal author of Direct from the Field: A guide to bullying prevention, and she is the original author with Linda Lantieri of Operation Respect’s Don’t Laugh at Me curricular materials. She holds a master of education degree in teaching and curriculum from Harvard University.
